"I recently purchased these Goodyear-welted shoes. The leather feels durable, and both cleaning and shining are straightforward. Expect a break-in period of about a month, which can be uncomfortable; if you plan to wear them daily, use gel insoles from a local pharmacy (e. g. , Chemist Warehouse or Unichem). Because of their Goodyear-welted construction, they can be repaired easily—Gemmell’s in Auckland does excellent work. The staff at Canterbury Arcade (Queen Street, Auckland Central) offer helpful advice on foot and shoe care and are welcoming. Overall, I’m very satisfied with both the shoes and the service."
